Soccer has shaped Luis Ramirez's life, teaching him discipline, resilience, leadership, accountability, and teamwork. These lessons have given him the opportunity to mentor young athletes and positively impact their growth both on and off the field.

As a coach, Luis believes player development goes beyond wins and losses. His goal is to help develop confident, creative, and competitive players while building meaningful relationships with players and their families.

​

Luis's connection to Houston Surf is also personal. He chose the club as the home for his two daughters' soccer development and appreciates the positive, development-focused environment it provides. He especially values the importance Houston Surf's leadership places on making sure players never lose their love for the game.

For Luis, being part of the Surf family is an opportunity to help young athletes grow while passing along the lessons soccer has taught him.

• 16+ years of coaching experience at the collegiate and competitive youth club levels

• Experience developing players through a possession-based, tactically focused style of play

• MBA graduate and college professor, bringing educational and leadership experience to coaching
