Houston Surf Competitive Program
Houston Surf Competitive Teams are designed for players who want to train more consistently and compete in leagues and tournaments throughout the year. Competitive teams train multiple times per week and focus on technical development, tactical understanding, and team play.
Players in the competitive program continue developing individual skills while learning team concepts, positioning, and game strategy. The competitive environment challenges players while continuing to focus on long-term development.
Eastern District Players League
The Eastern District Players League (EDPL) provides competitive teams in Houston and the surrounding areas with a structured platform to engage in high-level play. Operated by South Texas Youth Soccer, the EDPL offers divisions including Division I, Super 2, and Division II, catering to a range of competitive levels. Division I and Super 2 teams aim for advancement to the State Classic League (SCL) and are eligible for prestigious competitions such as the Presidents Cup, while Division II serves as an entry point for teams transitioning from recreational play, with opportunities to compete in events like the South Texas Cup.
This league emphasizes player development through consistent, meaningful matches, fostering technical and tactical growth. For clubs, participation in the EDPL enhances visibility, promotes a culture of excellence, and provides a clear pathway for player advancement within the South Texas soccer landscape.
