For Sydney Tume, soccer has provided more than opportunities to play and coach. It has given him second and third families, meaningful relationships, and life lessons he'll always be grateful for.

Sydney brings that same appreciation for relationships to his coaching. He values the connections he builds with players and parents and has seen firsthand how a strong team environment can influence a player's experience, both on and off the field.

What Sydney loves most about Houston Surf is its close-knit family culture. He believes that culture is one of the things that sets the club apart, creating an environment where players can grow as athletes and individuals while building relationships that make the experience special.

Parent Feedback

After Sydney took over the U12 Girls White team midway through the season, a parent shared that their daughter had been considering leaving soccer. By the end of the season, her experience had changed, and the family was grateful they had stayed with Houston Surf. The parent also recognized Sydney's gift for bringing people together.
