Don Brunell's love for soccer began at age five, when his parents enrolled him in the sport as an outlet for his seemingly endless energy. He's enjoyed the beautiful game ever since, eventually bringing that passion to coaching at both the high school and club levels.

Don began coaching at uScore in 2015 as a way to connect with his son, who wanted to play soccer. What started as a family connection grew into a lasting appreciation for the community, from uScore and the Plus Program to Legacy and now Houston Surf. He values the relationships he's built with players, parents, and fellow coaches, as well as the charitable work the club has done in local and global communities.

Don sees soccer as a microcosm of life, filled with highs, lows, and moments when the ball simply doesn't bounce your way. He challenges his players to consider how they'll respond to adversity, move forward, and contribute to the success of their teammates.
