Juan Carlos “JC” Martinez joins Houston Surf bringing over 13 years of coaching experience across youth, collegiate, and professional levels. JC spent seven years within the Houston Dynamo and Dash organization, working across multiple age groups within the Dynamo Academy, including roles with the U20, U19, U17, and younger academy teams. Most recently, he served as the Head Coach for the MLS NEXT U13 Academy team, where he focused on developing players within a high-performance environment.

 

In addition to his academy experience, JC has worked at the professional level as an Assistant Coach with the Houston Dash, where he was involved in video analysis, player development, and scouting. His experience also includes time with Carolina Core FC, where he contributed as a Soccer Analyst and Assistant Coach, helping support player development and team performance at a high level.

JC brings a strong background in player development, analysis, and long-term athlete growth. His experience working across all levels of the game allows him to connect with players at different stages and help guide them through their development pathway.

 

He holds a USSF B License and earned his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology, Fitness, and Sports from the University of Houston.
